O'Brien and Company is searching for an Equipment Assistant to support our Equipment Division servicing commercial and residential projects throughout the Northwest. The individual in this role will work directly with the Equipment Division and other team members on various tasks. This role is based in Seaside, Oregon and it may require regional travel with a company vehicle for delivery and/or service of company owned equipment. There is a potential to advance into the position of Equipment Technician, Mechanic or Manager as opportunities become available.

• Maintain industry safety standards during all work performed and log anything that falls outside of regulation.
• Ensure that service requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner.
• Complete duties as directed by the management and assist the overall team effort.
• Perform inspections, repairs, painting, restoration, installations, and general labor work.
• Comprehend oral and written instruction and communicate information regarding services.
• Equipment delivery, maintenance, and mobile repairs.
• Operate construction equipment such as excavators, forklifts, backhoes, loaders, etc.
• Assist on a variety of tasks at the Equipment headquarters.
• Participate in company training classes, as required.
• Willing and able to attend and obtain certifications (i.e., Welding, Mechanical)
Success in this Role:
• Dependability for reporting to work as scheduled as needed.
• Valid state issued driver's license and insurance compliance. For this position must be 25 years or older due to insurance requirements.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Strenuous physical activity may be required.
• Function effectively as part of a team.
• Good time management skills and organizational skills
• Broad understanding of the construction industry.
• Interest in growing into a Technician, Mechanic, or related.
• Ability to communicate using oral, written and a variety of digital technologies; including Microsoft products, Inventory tracking management software, Team collaboration platforms, etc.
